Honoring your space and pace
Overview
"Trauma is perhaps the most avoided, ignored, belittled, denied, misunderstood, untreated cause of human suffering."
~ Peter Levine
My curiosity about emotions, behavior, and the mind has shaped my path as a therapist, but it is my work with clients that has most profoundly informed who I am in the therapy room. Over the years, my clinical practice has been influenced by rigorous training, thoughtful mentorship, and collaborative relationships with colleagues. Even so, the greatest teachers have been the individuals who entrust me with their stories.

Working with people who carry complex and developmental trauma has shown me that healing is not about fixing what is “wrong,” but about restoring safety, dignity, and choice—first within the body, and then in relationships and daily life. I practice from a somatic, trauma-informed perspective, recognizing that the nervous system holds both the imprint of trauma and the capacity for resilience.

Together, we work gently and intentionally to build internal safety, increase body awareness, and support regulation at a pace that respects your lived experience. I believe healing unfolds through attuned connection, curiosity, and honoring the wisdom of the body. Time and again, I have witnessed profound resilience emerge when people are met with patience, compassion, and a deep respect for their survival.
Cultural Competency

In my practice, cultural competency is essential. Born in Indonesia and moving to the U.S. at age 19, I understand the challenges of adjusting to different social constructs, beliefs, and values. With experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, religious beliefs, ages, and genders, I recognize the importance of exploring these influences throughout our sessions. Mainstream cultural values often intersect with subcultural and family beliefs, shaping how clients perceive themselves, others, and the world around them.
My therapeutic approach includes adapting interventions to address these cultural dynamics, often by reinterpreting cultural metaphors and aligning therapeutic techniques to the client’s worldview. The goal is to create a safe, structured environment that fosters engagement and encourages clients to embrace culturally adapted treatment. Cultural competence is an ongoing, developmental process that evolves with experience and reflection.
